Editorial Reviews

Editorial Reviews

“A highly readable and exciting portrait of the Atlanta reporter-turned-housewife who penned the best-known epic of the Old South and gave fiction one of its most memorable heroines.” Kansas City Star
“It is hard to imagine this biography being better done. The research and documentation are comprehensive. It is candid but sympathetic…A rich narrative, peopled with vivid characters full of drama.” Wall Street Journal
“Narrator Karen Commins…sounds Southern but not syrupy, and she captures the wry humor and wit of the author. She also creates distinguishable voices for most of the other main players in Mitchell’s story…Due to the time period under discussion, there are a small number of direct and indirect quotes from various sources using both stereotypical dialect and racial slurs.” AudioFile
