Editorial Reviews

“Just about perfect.” Eudora Welty, New York Times bestselling author
“The classic children’s tale of a pig’s friendship with a spider is getting the star treatment with a reading by one of the greatest actors of our time. Along with a full cast, the audiobook isn’t just for kids. Adults can appreciate the moving story as only Streep could tell it. This recording also marks another milestone: It’s the first time Charlotte’s Web has been narrated since the author’s own audio performance in 1970.” Parade (audio review)
“Meryl Streep and a stellar cast take us to the barnyard. She draws the listener in with a smooth, consistent delivery and unobtrusive interjections highlighting the emotions of the dialogue. Every portrayal of every character, major and minor, bursts with personality…Winner of the AudioFile Earphones Award.” AudioFile
“Any adult dipping even so much as a toe into the book’s magic is sure at least of dying young, even if he lives to be ninety.” P. L. Travers, author of Mary Poppins
“Possibly the greatest children’s book ever written in the English language.” Jane Langton, author of The Transcendental Murder
