சி என் அண்ணாதுரை 1934லிருந்து 1966 வரை  108 சிறுகதைகள் எழுதியிருக்கிறார்.  சமூக சீர்திருத்தமே லட்சியம் என்று தொடங்கிய திராவிட இயக்கங்களின் தளர்நடைப் பருவத்திலிருந்து திராவிட முன்னேற்றக் கழகம் ஆட்சிப் பொறுப்பேற்ற காலம்வரை எழுதப்பட்ட இந்தக் கதைகளில் சமூகத்தின் அனைத்துத் தளங்களிலிருந்தும் கதாபாத்திரங்கள் படைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறார்கள். அண்ணாவின் சிறுகதைகள் என்ற இந்த ஒலிநூலில் 108ல் 23 கதைகளுக்கு ஒலிவடிவம் தந்திருக்கிறேன்.

CN Annathurai has written 108 short stories over a period of time. Full of earnestness for social reform, Anna's characters cut across several sections of the society of contemporary Tamilnadu during the days of early Dravidian social activism.
