Summary

Little Thembi's great grandmother Gogo takes care of her and tells her stories of the olden days in their Soweto homeland. Gogo is very old-so old she doesn't go out of the yard any more. But when Thembi's parents share the exciting news that black South Africans will soon be allowed to vote, Gogo surprises everybody. Gogo intends to vote, even though she will have to travel to the polls. Her family tries to talk her out of it, but Gogo is determined not to miss her first chance ever to vote.
