Editorial Reviews

Editorial Reviews

“Very remarkable, indeed, outstanding.” New York Times Book Review
“Perhaps the first major novel to bring to bear on the destiny of the Jew all the resources of modern European literary experience combined with the storytelling techniques of the Hasidic masters.” Washington Post Book World
“[Davidson] narrates beautifully; the very timbre of his voice is compelling, and he delivers an authoritative, intelligent and rich performance.” Audiofile
“In parable, spiritual exploration, archaic myth and surreal tableau, Wiesel, through the character of David, a wandering stranger in Jerusalem, adumbrates the tough, pragmatic realities of the Six Day war with the ghosts of Jewish dead...the intent and the passion is fixed and sustained.” Kirkus Reviews
